Here is a nice follow-up instructional video to watch after viewing the Thule 92724 Flat Top / Thule 92725 Flat Top video. This movie features the Thule 92726 Universal Pull Top ski rack-snowboard rack. It is very similar to the Thule 92725, as it also includes the cool new SpeedLink Universal Mounting Clamps, holds up to 6 pr skis or 4 snowboards (and you can carry skis and snowboards at the same time), and includes locks to simultaneously lock the carrier to the car and equipment inside the carrier. Where the 92726 Universal Pull Top ski rack differs is the innovative telescoping cradle arms that will slide out over the side of the car. This makes it super easy to load and unload the snow boards and skiis.  Then the arms retract back into the stored position on the rooftop. The video provides a great demonstration of how this works. Fits factory racks, Thule AeroBlade, square and round crossbars, Whispbar, Yakima, Inno etc. After watching both videos you will have a good foundation for making a decision on what ski rack is best for your needs.

This is a great instructional video for the new Thule 92724 Universal Flat Top ski rack (holds up to two snow boards or 4 pr skis)  and Thule 92725 Universal Flat Top ski rack (holds up to four snow boards or six pr skis). The 92724 replaces the older model 91724 and the 92725 replaces the older model 91725. The biggest improvement is the totally advanced Thule SpeedLink Universal Clamp Mounts integrated onto the underside of the ski carriers. Using a wrap-around strap and tension dial, it is effortless to attach the 92725 and 92724 to any roof rack crossbars, including factory rack cross bars, all Thule load bars (including AeroBlade bars, square bars etc.), all Whispbar and Yakima bars, Inno cross bars and so forth. Thule locks and keys are included for locking the rack to the car and the skis and snowboards to the rack.

New for the 2011-2012 ski and snowboard winter season is a new line up of Thule Racks skis carriers and snowboards carriers. After serving many seasons as the most popular ski racks and snowboard racks used by consumers in North America, continuing the leading position without having to make any changes or upgrades to the products (known as the Thule 91726 Pull Top, 91725 Flat Top and 91724 Flat Top), the designers and engineers at Thule finally decided they had a feature so remarkably improved they had no choice but to update and replace the current series. Now available are the Thule 92726 Universal Pull Top, Thule 92725 Universal Flat Top and the Thule 92724 Universal Flat Top. Each remains similar to their older relations, with one major exception – the universal clamping assembly for installing the carrier to roof rack cross bars. The 92726, 92725 and 92724 all now include the awesome new SpeedLink Clamp Mount mechanism that is designed with a steel band reinforced rubber strap on each Foot that simply wraps around the crossbar and hooks into place via the T-fastener. Superb news for owners of Jeep Wrangler Soft Top models. Yakima Racks now offers a roof rack cross rails system that mounts directly to the roll bars on the Jeep Wrangler. This is an excellent application of kayak racks with lift assist on factory crossbars.  This 2010 Subaru Outback factory mounted kayak rack system is using the Yakima ShowBoat extending roller lift assist system for kayaks and canoes.  Along with the Yakima Showboat lift assist roller, there are two kayak carriers mounted to the Subaru Outback factory crossbars.  They are the Yakima BowDown folding J-cradle kayak rack and the Thule 883 Glide and Set kayak saddles.  If you’re wondering if two kayaks can be carried on your factory crossbars, here is your answer.  And with a great lift assist system as well!

The rack pads are available in two different styles, the Thule 801 Surf Pads / Thule 802 Surf Pads and the Thule 803 Surf Pads / Thule 804 Surf Pads. The 801 (18 inches in length) and 802 (24 inches in length) are designed to mount to the standard Thule rack square load bars, Yakima round cross bars, Inno cross bars etc. The 803 (18 inches in length) and 804 (24 inches in length) are meant for using on factory racks, Thule Rapid Aero bars, Thule 422XT Xsporter truck rack crossbars and other ‘aero’ shaped cross bars. Using the surf pads in combination with a pair of rack straps or the Thule 531 Express surf straps is a solid, economical way to carry standup paddle boards, surfboards, windsurfers, kayak, canoe etc.
