This Scion xA kayak rack is comprised of a combination of the Yakima Q-Tower base rack system with Q120 and Q7 clips which provides the necessary crossbars–48″ crossbars in fact–to mount the Inno INA450 kayak carrier for two kayaks. For security, the Yakima SKS 4 pack of locks keeps the Q-Towers in check, and the Yakima 38″ wind fairing virtually eliminates the wind noise.

Nice shot of a 2009 Nissan Versa luggage rack set up using the Inno IN-SU Roof Crossbar System (Inno IN-SU Stays, Inno B127 Cross Bars, and Inno K313 Fit Hooks, locks/keys included) and the Inno BRA120 Flextop 18 Roof Bag.
This is a great example of the multi-use versatilty of a base rack system. Here we have a shiny 2009 Nissan Versa roof rack luggage carrier system using the Inno IN-SU Roof Rack System (Inno IN-SU Stays, Inno K313 Fit Hooks, and B127 50″ Cross Bars, and included locks/keys) for its multi purpose base rack system. The Inno INA262 Medium Wind Fairing can be seen attached to the front crossbar not currently doing what it is designed to do, which is quiet wind noise at higher speeds. On top of the cross bars is the Inno BRA 120 Flex Top 18 cargo carrier roof bag, or luggage carrier, or whatver you may call “a highly weather resistant roof mounted cargo carrier that has an interior frame with a soft bag stretched around it that mounts to existing crossbars and carries a alot of gear and whose frame can be folded down flat when not in use.” The Inno BRA120 roof bag combines a hard-shell roof box and a soft-sided roof bag into one superior product. Delivers the versatility of multi-purpose gear transport, even skis and snowboards in winter, not to mention camping equipement and all the luggage you need for a family vacation. Folds flat when not in use for dramatic fuel efficiency.

Inno IN-SU roof rack (black)
Inno IN-SU roof rack (silver)
The Inno IN-SU roof rack video from ORS Racks Direct demonstrates the easy installation process and explains all the features of this multi-purpose base rack system for cars, minivans and pickup truck cabs that have nothing on the roof currently. With the INSU system mounted, it is then possible to attach any Inno gear carriers (and virtually all gear carriers from other car rack companies) directly to the pair of crossbars. The complete system includes a set of Inno Stays, set of Inno K Fit Hooks (specific to your vehicle year, make and model) and pair of cross bars. Also includes a set of Inno locks and keys to lock the roof rack to the vehicle (similar systems from other leading manufacturers require you to purchase locks as an additional expense). Available in both silver and black color options.

Inno roof rack wind fairing
This Inno car rack wind fairing video from ORS Racks Direct gives a great demonstration of how user friendly this factory rack wind fairing is. Includes universal mounting hardware, so besides mounting directly to Inno Racks base rack system crossbars and crossbars from Yakima Racks, Thule Racks etc, the Inno wind fairing will mount directly to virtually all factory rack cross bars too. Available in 3 sizes – INA260 small, INA261 medium and INA262 large. Serves double duty as a sleek, modern and aerodynamic finished touch to any roof rack, and also stops any possible wind noise or ‘whistling’, ‘humming’ and such that can sometimes occur with a roof rack system mounted to the top of a vehicle.

A fine shot of a 2001 Audi TT roof bike rack system with the Inno INA 383 Fork Lock II Bike Rack mounted directly to Audi TT factory roof racks.
This 2001 Audi TT came with the Audi OEM roof racks which have aerodynamic, oval shaped crossbars. Not all attachments can mount directly to these bars due to their shape, but the Inno INA 383 Fork Lock II bike rack definitely can. It comes with universal mounting hardware so it can not only mount directly to these bars without adapters, but also virtually any factory crossbars, as well as, of course, Inno, Thule, and Yakima crossbars. The Inno INA383 bike tray also comes with locks and keys, so it is truly ready to go right out of the box.

A beautiful example of the Inno Racks IN-FR car rack and Inno INA382 bike rack used as a 2010 Subaru Forester roof rack bike rack setup.
Becoming more and more common out on the roads and highways of America are Inno Racks vehicle rack systems. With a long established reputation as the the car rack market leader in Japan and many parts of the world, Inno Racks is becoming a favored alternative to the major players in the USA such as Thule Racks and Yakima Racks. Several reasons include very competitive and often lower prices on roof rack and gear carrier options, locks included (other car rack makers charge extra for locks) and extremely well-made and premium design styling features. The photo above showcases a 2010 Subaru Forester car roof rack bicycle carrier system that is configured with the Inno IN-FR roof rack mounted to the Subaru Forester factory side rails, while the Inno INA382 Upright Lock bike rack is attached to the IN-FR base rack cross bars.

Inno RT101 truck rack and Inno INA-382 Upright Lock bike racks featured in this picture as a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 crew cab pickup truck bike rack system.
Looking for a pickup truck rack that won’t leave you having to bring along a step ladder every time you need to load and unload your equipment from the truck rack? Check out the photo above of a 2008 Chevy Colorado truck bike rack system using the super cool and innovative Inno RT101 truck rack and 3 Inno INA382 Upright Lock bike racks. Just place bike in the bike tray and tighten the bike clamp to the bike frame, tighten the wheel straps and you are all set. The INA382 includes locks and also universal mounting clamps so they mount directly to the Inno RT101 truck rack crossbars, as well as any factory roof rack bars or aftermarket car racks if you ever need to transfer them over to a car roof. The RT101 provides the added benefit of a convenient loading level compared to other truck racks that are much higher. So leave that step ladder behind!

This 2009 Dodge Ram truck rack bicycle carriers system features the very innovative Inno Racks RT101 truck rack, which mounts to the 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck bed rails. It includes a pair of cross rails that allow for the mounting of any gear carriers onto the cross rails. The photo above shows a couple Thule 594XT SideArm bike racks mounted to the Inno RT101 truck rack. This style of truck rack is an excellent choice because it still allows for storing plenty of cargo gear on the pickup truckbed floor yet locates the gear carriers at a convenient level for loading and unloading. It is a superb cheap truck rack solution that is much less expensive than TracRac truck racks, Yakima, Thule systems etc.

Q: Hi. I’m trying to buy an Inno Board Locker Roof Rack for my 2007 4-Door Saturn Ion. I have a longboard surfboard. Not trying to go the soft rack route so I gotta fork a little extra more, but I’m hoping not that much more? Don’t know if I have rain gutters or not. I might but I don’t know for sure. How would I know?
A: If you want to go with the Inno BoardLocker, which is a sweet surfboard rack that I would definitely recommend, you are going to first need a base rack system. Sticking with Inno, you would need the IN-SU system, which is designed for cars without raingutters and attaches to the roof with thin metal clips that fit under the doors. It is an excellent base rack system that is comparable in quality to Thule and Yakima but unlike Thule and Yak, it comes with free locks. Once that is installed, you are free to mount your BoardLocker or any other attachment for that matter. Compared to a soft rack, such as the SteelCore Surf Rack, this is a much more pricey option, but one that is way more secure, safe, and versatile and you don’t have to deal with straps running through the interior of your car.

Q: Does anyone make a rooftop car rack system for a 2008 Range Rover? I’ve checked both Yakima and Thule and nothing is coming up. They only offer racks for Range Rovers with factory racks and mine has none. I want to carry two bicycles and maybe a kayak. Thanks!
A: You’re right, Yak and Thule don’t provide a fit, but Inno does makes a base rack system that will attach to the naked roof of your Range Rover. It is the Inno IN-SU complete base rack system. It is a great rack system with corssbars that are identical to Thule’s. With the IN-SU system installed, you are free to mount virtually any bike carrrier or kayak carrier you like. A few good examples: Inno INA383 Fork Lock II and Inno INA450 Kayak Rack.

Superb picture of a 2009 Volkswagon Tiguan roof rack setup using the Inno IN-SR Stays and Inno crossbars (the INSR is now discontinued and replaced by the Inno INFR Stays and bars, which also looks sweet as a 2009 VW Tiguan car roof rack system.)
An excellent customer installation photo demonstrating how nicely Inno Racks work as a 2009 VW Tiguan roof rack system. The Inno INSR car rack is mounted to the 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan factory side rails. The Inno Racks IN-SR is now discontinued but is replaced by the equally stylish and even easier to install Inno IN-FR roof rack which also works as a suberb 2009 VW Tiguan car rack system. This multi-purpose base rack system looks nice as is, but is also fully prepared to accept virtually any gear carrier from most car rack companies. Simply mount the gear carriers to the Inno roof rack crossbars.

Using Inno Fishing Rod Racks for 9″ Fly Rods
Q: Regarding the Inno ZR352 / ZR353 fishing rod racks, how far do the forward racks extend from the back rack on these fishing rod holders? Is this compatible/do you recommend for 9 foot fly rods?
A: The forward racks are fully adjustable to accommodate whatever length fishing rods you are carrying. So the 9′ fly rods will transport well with these holders.

Items Needed for 2010 Toyota Corolla Kayak Roof Rack to Stack Kayaks
Q: If I used the Inno INSU car rack system as a 2010 Toyota Corolla roof rack, would it be good for stacking kayaks?
A: You’re going to want to attach a kayak stacker style kayak carrier to the INSU roofrack crossbars. Several good kayak stacker options that are compatible with the IN-SU car rack cross bars are the Inno INA450, Thule 830 Stacker, Yakima BigStack and Malone Stax Pro.

Mounting the Thule Storage Bike Rack to the Wall
Q: Can the Thule BSTK2 bike storage rack be mounted on the wall to get the bikes a little higher and out of the way? Does the base come apart I could wall mount?
A: Yes the base is removeable, so it is possible to custom install to the wall providing you have the skill to drill and mount etc. This is not something recommended by Thule Racks, of course, and would invalidate the warranty. Other easier options can be found using some of the Delta bike storage racks such as the Leonardo or Chagall models.

Using Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack as a Ford Focus Car Rack System
Q: Can the Yakima Q Tower car racks cause rain to seep into around door? I am think of using this as a Ford Focus roof rack.
A: No chance of rain getting in. Car rack manufacturers invest much time and money engineering systems to prevent any possible water issues. The Q Towers roofrack is no exception. The Q clips provide a seemless fit so they don’t impact the car doors.

Inno Car Rack Fairing on 2010 Subaru Forester X Factory Rack
Q: Thinking about an Inno fairing for my 2010 Subaru Forester X. I have the factory crossbars only, with a Yakima Powderhound ski rack on top and am getting CONSIDERABLE wind noise at 50+ mph. The sizing guide says to use a 32 inch, but it seems like the 39 inch would be more appropriate (as the “silver part” of the crossbar itself is 38.5 inches). Which size do you think is best, and will this Inno Fairing be compatible with what I have/solve my wind noise problem?
A: That sounds like a very tight fit, and this is probably why Inno Racks decided on the small size in this situation. But if the total measurement of the crossbar from the inside of each side rail is at least 39″ then this should fit. You can always trim the fairing edges if that what it takes to make a perfect fit. Fairings are designed to eliminate that rack noise that can randomly occur. You’ll be happy with how effective the fairing takes care of this issue.
