Picture of the all-new Inno Racks IN-AR roof rack crossbars system for vehicles with factory side rails. An inexpensive, cheap car rack option for virtually any car, van, SUV, pickup truck and minivan with siderails only and needs the cross bars for connecting gear carriers to transport equipment.
Photo of the Inno IN-AR Stays, packaged as a set of four INAR Stays (also known as Towers) and ideal for any Inno Racks car rack owners that already have crossbars and need to transfer their current Inno roof rack system over to a vehicle with raised factory side rails.
Now available as an alternative to the premium Inno Racks IN-FR roofrack systems for vehicles with side rails is the Inno IN-AR factory side rails roof rack, a complete system that manages to offer a suite of high-end features yet still remain in the cheap roof racks category. The Inno IN-AR car rack cross bars general-purpose system combines super budget friendly pricing with maximum strength durability, sleek, modern good looks and universal compatibility with virtually all styles of factory rack side rails. The integrated clamps on each INAR Stay bite down and securely grip any style of side rails, even fat over-sized models. Also includes a set of 4 Inno locks and keys to lock the car rack to the vehicle. Also available are the set of 4 Inno IN-AR Stays only. This is a great option for any Inno Racks owners that already have Inno crossbars and just need the IN-AR Stays to transfer a current Inno Racks system over to a vehicle with side rails.

Picture of the Inno Shadow 16 roof box (dimensions - 78.7”L x 31.9”W x 13.4”H), 16 cu/ft storage capacity that fits all styles of roof racks including factory racks and any roof rack crossbars from Inno, Yakima, Whispbar, Thule etc.
Photo of the Inno Shadow 14 cargo box (dimensions - 70.9”L x 31.9”W x 13.4”H), 14 cu/ft storage capacity and has all the same upscale features as the Shadow 16 box but is shorter to fit all styles of cars and allow most rear hatch doors to open all the way.
The all-new Inno Racks Shadow series of car roof mount waterproof cargo luggage carriers stand out from the competition due to a combination of unique design engineering and premium good looks. The two most popular models are the 16 cu/ft cargo storage capacity Inno BRA1250 Shadow 16 cargo box and the 14 cu/ft cargo carrying Inno BRA1450 Shadow 14 roof box. Both are identical except for the length, the Shadow 14 model being a little shorter for working universally well on all sizes of cars and also increasing the chances that the rear hatch door will be able to open fully without touching the rear of the cargo box. The sleek low profile of the boxes (both have a 13.4″ height) means the Inno BRA1250 Shadow 16 and Inno BRA1450 Shadow 14 gear boxes cut through the wind like a knife and reduce wind drag so fuel efficiency is not compromised and the boxes wont produce noise while on top either. The low-profile aerodynamic shape also means you are much more likely to be able to pull into a garage without having to remove the box from the cartop. The Inno Racks Memory Mount clamping system allows the roof boxes to universally fit to factory rack crossbars and also any car rack cross bars from Inno, Whispbar, Yakima, Thule etc. Each model is also available in choice of black or silver color. Locks are included.

Photo of the Inno Racks BRA1150 Shadow 15 cargo box, sporting an ultra-low profile for increased fuel efficiency, less wind drag and a quiet ride. This waterproof cargo carrier fits all styles of roof rack crossbars.
The Inno Racks Shadow series of cargo boxes has recently been released to dealers across North America. The Inno BRA1150 Shadow 15 roof box is a marquee performer in the line-up, featuring the lowest profile of all the Inno Shadow roof boxes. With just an 11.8″ height, the Inno Shadow 15 luggage box performs brilliantly not just in working as a waterproof cargo luggage box, but it dramatically reduces fuel consumption compared to most other cargo roof boxes. Also, due to the decreased wind drag and improved aerodynamics there is much less wind drag which translates into a very quiet box (any passenger will appreciate on a long trip). The Inno Racks proprietary Memory Mount system makes it easy to position and adjust the BRA1150 Shadow 15 the first time, then there is no need to readjust every time you take the box off and put it back on again ‘set it and forget it’. The Memory Mount clamps are also universally compatible with virtually all factory racks plus any aftermarket roof rack crossbars from Inno, Thule Whispbar, Yakima etc. Other features include dual-side opening access, locks and keys included, premium U.V. and scratch resistant glossy black finish, lash down straps on the inside. 15 cubic foot cargo storage capacity. Fits skis, snowboards, surfboards, tools, camping equipment, luggage cargo gear, fishing rods, golf clubs and much more.

Q: I have a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe and wish to carry a kayak on the roof. I know I can use the Inno IN-SU Rack system for the base rack - I understand this consists of the Cross bars and attachments to the car. What rack would I attach to this to carry my kayaks?
A: You are correct: the Inno INSU Complete System will work on your Civic Coupe. However, in addition to this rack you also need the IN-JK Short Roof Kit. Also worth noting, the maximum weight limit on your vehicle is 80 lbs.
Onto this system you could then attach a kayak carrier. Some of the best options are the Inno INA444, the Thule 835Pro, or the Thule 883 Glide and Set.

This 2005 Volkswagen Passat roof rack for a bike is made up of the Inno IN-SU Roof Rack system for naked roof tops ( no siderails, raingutters etc.) - it works perfectly on this Passat and is paired with the INA381 Fork Lock Bike Rack which can mount to any crossbars ( not just Inno bars). This bike rack for a 2005 VW Passat is good for bikes with skinny to mid-width tires ( you should use the INA383 for mountain bike and other fat tires).

Q:I have a 31″ wide stand up paddle board (like a surf board) and was told that I’d need to use the INA444 system. I have some questions regarding the rack and the foam blocks.
- Are they needed for a stand up paddle board?
- Are they supposed to be left in place even when not carrying
anything on the rack?
- Is this system safe for drive through car washes?
A: The Inno INA444 is definitely the rack to get for SUP boards, and the foam pads are not required and we don’t recommend leaving them on for transit without a board on them. They can come off in wind if not strapped down tightly. As for the car wash, self serve wand style are okay but don’t use the automatic roller/brush ones as they can rip off racks!
Q: If I were to use this with a 31″ wide SUP, would I need to also purchase board pads if I didn’t want to use the foam block it comes with?
A: It will be good idea to have some type of padding on the crossbar, not only for cushion but to provide some friction to prevent slipping of the board while in transit. So while not required, we do recommend use of such pads.
Q: I noticed that the new INA745 doesnt even require tools to attach to the vehicle. Is the INA444 the same way or does it still require hexwrenches to install? I’m going back and forth between INA444 and the integrated locking surf carrier from Steelcore because it seems easier to move between vehicles which I will need to do frequently. My board is 31″ wide by 4″ thick and sometimes we like to carry 2.
A: Good point regarding the ease of removal/attachment, the INA444 does require wrenches but remember it locks whereas the INA745 does not. The locking ability and the fact that you can adjust it to anywhere on the bar seems to make the INA444 the product of choice now.
Last I knew the INA745 would not be available for quite some time. As for the Steelcore, it is more rudimentary and while may work a bit easier from car to car, we’ve had some problems with the ability to tighten the strap due to the intergrated steel cable.
Our recommendation is the INA444.

Q: I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Will the Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System work for this vehicle? I would carry one or two kayaks.
A: No, the Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System will NOT work for this vehicle. You could go with the Yakima Control Tower System but this would involve drilling into the roof of your vehicle.
Thule’s option for a 2001 Mitusubishi Eclipse would be the 400XT Complete – this would also require purchase of the Thule 477 adapter kit BUT this would only allow you to carry bikes, skis and snowboards on your roof NO KAYAKS.
THERE IS A SOLUTION! If you purchase Inno’s IN-SU Complete Roof Rack system and the Inno IN-JK short roof adapter kit which will increase the distance between the front and rear cross bars you will be able to carry long items such as kayaks using kayak carriers from Inno, Yakima or Thule.
