This roof top cargo box  roof rack system for 2010 Land Rover Range Rover provides a smooth low profile option for carrying cargo on top of a vehicle that is already pretty tall.  The Thule 480R Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System on this Range Rover uses Thule 1274 Fit Kit Clips, the correct fit clips for attaching a Thule Rapid Traverse car rack to a 2010 Land Rover Range Rover. Thanks to D.A. in sunny California for this great shot of his 2004 Land Rover Discovery roof luggage rack and roof crossbar pad rack.  You can see why a taller raingutter foot is needed based on the location of the raingutters in relation to the roof.  This ’04 Discovery roof rack is using the Thule 953 Super High raingutter rack system.  Mounted to the Thule LB65 65″ loadbars is the Yakima BasketCase roof luggage basket and a pair of Thule 556BLK crossbar pads.

Q: Does anyone make a rooftop car rack system for a 2008 Range Rover?  I’ve checked both Yakima and Thule and nothing is coming up.  They only offer racks for Range Rovers with factory racks and mine has none.  I want to carry two bicycles and maybe a kayak.  Thanks!

A: You’re right, Yak and Thule don’t provide a fit, but Inno does makes a base rack system that will attach to the naked roof of your Range Rover.  It is the Inno IN-SU complete base rack system.  It is a great rack system with corssbars that are identical to Thule’s.  With the IN-SU system installed, you are free to mount virtually any bike carrrier or kayak carrier you like.  A few good examples: Inno INA383 Fork Lock II and Inno INA450 Kayak Rack.

Man this is a fantastic customer installation featuring a 1999 Land Rover Range Rover roof rack system with a cargo luggage basket mounted and accessories connected to the basket including a spare tire holder and ski-snowboard carrier. Specifically the Yakima Q Tower roofrack system (using 2 pairs of Yakima Q clips) is attached to the Range Rover pockets on the rooftop trim strip. The Yakima MegaWarrior roof basket with the Yakima MegaWarrior extension is connected tothe Q Tower crossbars. And because the Mega Warrior basket includes integrated crossbars, the Yakima FatCat 6 ski-snowboard rack is able to connect to the basket. The Yakima Spare Tire Holder basket accessory is used to carry the spare tire.
