The components used are the Yakima Q Tower car rack system (includes set of four Q Towers, two pairs of Yakima Q129 clips and pair of 48 inch cross rails), which serves as the versatile multi-purpose base rack system. The SportRack ABR512 kayak rack saddles are then mounted to the base rack cross rails. Not shown in the image above is the very sweet Thule 854 Water Slide Mat accessory for protecting the rear of the Saturn Relay minivan and also assisting in loading the kayak up onto the kayak roof rack saddles.
