This 2008 Toyota Tundra Double Cab Kayak Rack is made possible with the Yakima Q Tower Half Pack System with a pair of Yakima Q99 Clips for the cab, and providing the rear crossbar is the Yakima DryDock hitch rack installed into the receiver hitch. Supporting the kayak are a pair of Yakima Hullyrollers kayak rollers and a pair of Yakima Mako Saddles kayak saddles.
Loaded up with kayaks, this 2008 Toyota Tundra kayak rack is looking mighty fine. Using a combination of rack systems, this set up is ideal for longer loads such as kayaks, canoes, and lumber. On the cab of the ‘08 Tundra is the Yakima Q Tower Half Pack system which is using a pair of Yakima Q99 Q Clips and a 58″ crossbar. For the rear mounted crossbar, the Yakima Dry Dock, also with a 58″ crossbar, has been installed securely into the Tundra’s trailer hitch. Supporting this fine boat is the awesome combo of a pair of Yakima HullyRoller kayak rollers for the rear crossbar and a pair of Yakima Mako kayak saddles for the front crossbar. As for the boat in the bed, not a lot can be said, other than if it were also mounted on the crossbars, there’d be room for a dog named Fred.

Yakima Racks 8890176 mounting hardware hitch bolt for toyota tundra trailer hitches.
The OEM receiver hitch on the Toyota Tundra is too large for most hitch bolts, due to excessive gussetting on the Toyota Tundra trailer hitch. The answer is to use the extra long Yakima 8890176 Hitch Bolt mounting hardware to properly mount your hitch bike rack. Sold separately as a Yakima Racks replacement part – spare part so you can use it with your hitch bike rack to properly install it on the Toyota Tundra OEM trailer hitch. It is also included with Yakima SwingDaddy, FlipSide and Doubledown hitch bike racks etc.

Hearwarming shot of two happy folks standing in front of thier 2010 Toyota RAV4 with Thule 630 Ranger 90 Cargo Carrier attached directly to the RAV4's factory roof crossbars.
A simple and affordable way to increase your cargo space is with a roof moutned cargo box or cargo bag. The Thule 630 Ranger 90 cargo bag is a cargo bag with a hard bottom that attaches to factory crossbars much like a cargo box. This 2010 Toyota RAV4 with factory crossbars is a prefect match with the Ranger 90 cargo bag.

2005 Toyota 4Runner hitch bike rack with Saris Thelma Hitch Bike Rack (Juvenile Hitch Rack) for 3 bikes (2 adult bikes and 1 kids bike).
Lots of great adult bike hitch rack solutions are out there for a 2005 Toyota 4-Runner hitch bike rack, but most of us usually end up cramming the kid’s bikes in the back with the picnic lunch. I can’t stand it when the tuna salad pitas get squished. The Saris Thelma Hitch Bike Rack for 3 bikes is a great solution for carrying both adult bikes and a kid’s bike on the back of a 2005 Toyota 4Runner with either a 2″ or 1-1/4″ trailer hitch. The Saris Thelma Juvenile bike hitch rack has 2 bike trays for adult bicycles and a “juvenile” bike tray for carrying any kind of kids bike with 20 inch wheels, including BMX bikes. The Saris Locking Hitch-Tite (Saris 3022) Hitch Bike Rack lock is a smart addition to lock the rack to the 2005 Toyota 4Runner also secure all three bicycles to the hitch bike rack with the Saris cable bike lock. Bonus: This looks really cute too!

Install photo of a 2005 Toyota Corolla kayak rack using the Yakima Q-Tower Base Rack (Yakima Q-Towers, Yakima Q31 and Q99 Q-Clips, and Yakima 48" round bars) with Yakima 44" wind fairing and Yakima Hullraiser J-style kayak rack.
Ok all you sit-on-top kayak paddlers, here’s a great way to carry your boat. There are of course, many other options, but this 2005 Toyota Corolla roof rack kayak carrier system is using the Yakima Q-Tower roof rack (includes set of Yakima Q Towers, pair of Yakima Q31 clips and pair of Yakima Q99 clips and also a pair of cross bars) as its base rack which is the foundation of a rooftop kayak rack for a naked roof. It is decked out with a Yakima 44″ wind fairing, or wind deflector, or “flair” as one person calls it, and a set of Yakima SKS 4 locks to prevent theft. Holding the sit-on-top kayak is the Yakima HullRaiser kayak rack. This person knows how to roll, but I’m not sure how I feel about the unorthodox method used for strapping the boat down. I might suggest using the included Yakima Heavy Duty Load Straps for the body of the kayak and the included Yakima Ratcheting Bow and Stern Tie Down Straps for the bow and stern. If this is how you plan of strapping your boat down, then I would say drive really, really slow.

Customer install photo of a shiny red 2005 Toyota Matrix roof rack kayak carriers system with the Yakima Q-Tower base rack system (Yakima Q-Towers, Yakima Q83 and Q116 Q clips, and Yakima 48" roundbars) and two Yakima HullRaiser J-style kayak racks.
Your car has a naked roof and you feel like raising some hull. Here is a great way to reach your goal. Start out with the Yakima Q-Tower system, which with its round bars fits rounded roofs like the one of this 2005 Toyota Matrix perfectly. This Q-Tower complete set up uses a set of Yakima Q-Towers, one set of Yakima Q83 Q-clips and one set of Yakima Q116 clips, a pair of Yakima 48″ round bars, and for theft prevention, a Yakima SKS 4 lock pack . For theft protection for your boats, we suggest the Yakima BoatLoacker kayak lock. Once your Yakima Q-Tower multi purpose base rack system is in place, you are free to attach the specific carriers you need to carry your gear. In the case of carrying kayaks, the Yakima HullRaiser kayak rack is a great choice, and this customer, who needs to carry two boats, went ahead and installed two of ‘em.

Photo featuring a 2003 Toyota 4-Runner roof basket and bike carriers setup using the Yakima MegaWarrior baasket and two RockyMounts PitchFork bike racks.
A car roof rack mount gear basket is a superb option that offers versatile solutions for carrying many items besides camping equipment and cargo-luggage gear. The picture above shows a 2003 Toyota 4Runner roof basket with two bike racks attached to the gear basket. The Yakima MegaWarrior roof basket is mounted directly to the 2003 Toyota 4Runner factory rack cross bars. The neat thing about the MegaWarrior is that the basket, itself, has a pair of integrated cross bars also. This allows for the attachment of all kinds of gear carriers right to the basket. In this case 2 RockyMounts PitchFork bike racks are mounted to the MegaWarrior basket crossbars. You can still place all your cargo-luggage gear, camping equipment in the basket while the bike carriers and bicycles are installed and loaded on.

This picture demonstrates the use of the Yakima Q Towers roofrack and RockyMounts Pitchfork bike rack (2 carriers) used as a 2007 Toyota Prius bicycle roof rack. A wind fairing is also attached.
RockyMounts bike racks are an excellent, lower cost alternative for those interested in a fork mount style bicycle carrier (the front wheel is removed and the bike fork attaches to the bike rack quick release skewer). The photo above shows a 2007 Toyota Prius bike roof rack that uses two RockyMounts Pitchfork bike rack carriers attached to the Yakima Q Towers car rack multi-purpose base rack system (Q Towers mount to the Toyota Prius car top using a pair of Yakima Q124 clips and a pair of Yakima Q5 clips; two Yakima 58 inch cross bars are also used; these components are all included with the Yakima Q Tower complete roof rack system). Also a large size 44 inch Yakima rack fairing is connected to the front base rack crossbar.

- An admittedly poor quality photo of Mr. LeRose standing next to his good lookin’ Toyota Tacoma truck rack setup that includes the Yakima Frontloader bike rack and Yakima Mako Saddles – HullyRoller kayak rack combination.
ORS Racks Direct enjoyed a great day hanging out with Mr. LeRose, Yakima Racks Eastern Regional Sales Director, going over the new 2010 Yakima Racks product lineup. Looking great indeed, with new products such as the Yakima Frontloader bike rack, Yakima EvenKeel kayak carrier, Yakima SpareTime spare tire mount bike rack and more! Of course we just had to snap a quick pic of his Toyota Tacoma truck rack setup (apologies for the terrible picture quality, combination of blackberry camera and a foggy day!) He is using the Yakima Control Tower roof rack system mounted to permanently installed Yakima Tracks on his Toyota Tacoma cab roof. Connected to the roof rack crossbars is the Yakima Frontloader bike rack and the Yakima Mako Saddles - HullyRoller kayak rack combination. See you soon Dan and thanks for lunch!

These folks went on a crosscountry road trip in their Toyota Matrix and were able to take plenty of gear and toys with room to spare inside the vehicle. For a base rack, they are using the Yakima Q Tower complete system. On top is a Thule 604 Ascent 1600 Cargo Box. For bike transport, they are using a pair of Yakima Sprocket Rockets. Just goes to show that you don’t need a van to carry everything you need to have an amazing trip.
