Toyota Tacoma tonneau cover bike rack system using Yakima 60" tracks and the Yakima Control Tower base rack system with two sets of # 1 Landing Pads. System has a four bike capacity using two Yakima Copperhead bike racks and two Yakima Steelhead bike racks.
Great shot right here of a 2010 Toyota Tacoma tonneau cover bike rack system starting out with a set of Yakima 60″ tracks that are permanently installed onto the tonneau cover. The Yakima Control Tower base system with two sets of Yakima Landing Pads #1 integrates into the tracks. Four bikes can be carried using two Yakima Copperhead bike racks and two Yakima Steelhead bike racks. For total security for the rack system and the four bike racks, the Yakima SKS 8 pack of locks will lock every component with just one key.

This 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Bike and Canoe Rack easily transports one canoe and two bicycles using: for the roof, the Yakima Railgrab roof rail system which attaches to the 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Track factory side rails, and the Yakima Gunwale Brackets Canoe Carrier. The Tonneau cover bike rack uses the Yakima Control Tower base rack with two pairs of the Yakima Landing Pad 6 and two Yakima High Roller Bike Racks.
This is how you do it folks. This is a 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac canoe roof rack and Tonneau cover bike rack using all Yakima racks. Mounted to the ’10 Ford Explorer factory side rails is the Yakima RailGrab rail rack system with Yakima 48″ round crossbars. Attached to the roundbars is the Yakima Gunwale Brackets canoe rack, which comes with the necessary straps and tie downs. On the 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Track Tonneau cover is the Yakima Control Tower base sytem attached to the tonno cover using two sets of the Yakima Landing Pad 6 Permanent Landing Pads for tonneau covers, camper shells, etc. Mounted to the yakima 48″ crossbars are two Yakima Highroller bike racks. If my math is correct, a Yakima SKS 8 Lock Pack would lock down the two Yakima base rack systems and the two Yakima bike racks, and all with one Yakima SKS key.

Call this one “surf n turf” if you like, or call it a great use of racks for carrying your gear with the purpose of having fun. Whatever you call it, this 2006 Nissan Frontier kayak roof rack and pickup truck bed bike rack set up is using the Yakima Railgrab Roof Rack Kit (which comes with 58″ crossbars) attached to the Nissan Frontier factory siderails, and mounted to the cross bars is the kayak carrying combo of the Yakima HullyRollers kayak rollers with Yakima Mako Saddles kayak saddles. A Yakima SKS 4 pack lockpack keeps the rack system locked securely down. In the pickup truckbed is the Yakima Locking BedHead truck bike rack (locks included) mounted to the bed rails. Someone knows how to rack up and how to have fun, and that would be this guy.

Check out the photo above of a 2008 Chevy Colorado truck bike rack system using the super cool and innovative Inno RT101 truck rack and 3 Inno INA382 Upright Lock bike racks. The RT101 installs onto any pickup truck bed rails including those with bed liners. The Inno INA382 bicycle carriers are upright mounting so you don’t need to take the bike wheels off. Just place bike in the bike tray and tighten the bike clamp to the bike frame, tighten the wheel straps and you are all set. This 2009 Dodge Ram truck rack bicycle carriers system features the very innovative Inno Racks RT101 truck rack, which mounts to the 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck bed rails. It includes a pair of cross rails that allow for the mounting of any gear carriers onto the cross rails. The photo above shows a couple Thule 594XT SideArm bike racks mounted to the Inno RT101 truck rack. This style of truck rack is an excellent choice because it still allows for storing plenty of cargo gear on the pickup truckbed floor yet locates the gear carriers at a convenient level for loading and unloading. It is a superb cheap truck rack solution that is much less expensive than TracRac truck racks, Yakima, Thule systems etc.

Nissan Titan bed rail bike rack system using Thule 42" tracks and Thule 430 Tracker II base system with Thule 517 Peloton bike rack
Here’s a great alternative rack system for truck owners. Instead of a rooftop system, like the Thule 400XT complete base system, or a truck rack, like the Thule 422XT Xsporter, this Nissan Titan is rocking a pair of Thule 42″ tracks permanently mounted to the bed rails which allows the use of the Thule 430 Tracker II base system. The great thing about this set up is that the feet and bars can be taken off when not needed with the push of a button. You can also see a Thule 517 Peloton bike rack attached to the crossbars with plenty of bar space left for a Thule cargo box or other attachment. The other nice thing about this set up is how it doesn’t interfere with the Tonneau cover. If you’re thinking of mounting racks to your Tonneau cover, consider this solution first.
