Inno Racks has just released a 3 bike hitch rack version of the Inno INH301 Aero Light 4 bike hitch rack and Inno INH302 Aero Light 2 bike hitch rack. Called the INH303 Inno Aero Light hitch bike rack, it offers all the exact same features and ease of use as the INH 301 and INH 302 models. Built with highest-quality, super strong and lightweight aluminum materials, the INH303 Aero Light is a cinch to lift, carry and mount to the trailer hitch receiver. The included universal trailer hitch adapter also enables the rack to connect to both 1.25 inch and 2 inch trailer hitches. Unique to the Aero Light models is the innovative foot pedal quick-release that allows the entire hitch bike rack, even with all bikes loaded, to lower down and out of the way for total access to the rear of the automobile. Also includes a hitch pin lock to lock the Aero Light to the trailer hitch receiver, and the included cable bike lock ensures all bicycles are locked to the carrier. Bikes are prevented from swinging around during transport via the no-sway cages that are integrated into the bike cradles. Holds all styles, shapes and sizes of bikes. Best of all, all these features and many more are included at a manufacturer’s special promotional discount price. The INH303 Inno Aero Light hitch bike rack is available at Inno Racks dealers in the United States and Canada.

Serving up a few more hitch bike racks in the traditional upright mast style (or hang and dangle as they are also known) of hitch mounted bike racks, the Saris Bike Rack Company now offers the Saris Bike Porter Hitch 4-Bike Rack (available in two models, the 604 includes hitch locks to secure the bikes to the carrier and the rack itself to the trailer hitch receiver; the 404 model is exactly the same but does not include the locking security system) and the Saris Bike Porter Hitch 2-Bike Rack (same as the 404 but carries 2 bikes instead of 4). Priced at a point to put them in the cheap hitch bike racks category, it’s still no surprise how Saris Racks manages to keep many high-end features normally found only on higher-priced models. Out of the box, all the Bike Porters are compatible with both 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches, absolutely no extra adapters needed! Other features include tilt down bike cradle arms and also fold down hitch bike rack technology for accessing the back of the car when no bikes are mounted on the bike rack. Proprietary bike cradles also feature extra padding and integrated grooves to protect the cable for the brakes and gear shifters. Qualifies for the Saris Racks lifetime warranty also.

Thule Racks has just begun shipping to dealers nationwide the brand new Thule T2 series of platform bike racks, replacing the previous models with a security upgrade that safeguards the bicycles from theft when loaded onto the bike rack and left unattended. The Thule 916XTR T2 hitch bike rack replaces the previous 916XT T2 model, while the Thule 917XTR T2 platform bike rack replaces the previous 917XT T2. The security upgrade features a new cable lock on the end of each SecureHook mechanism that clamps down and holds the front wheel in place on the bike tray. The former 916XT and 917XT models only had a lock on each SecureHook that locked the arm in place so no one could come along and raise up the SecureHook clamp arm. However, in certain situations, using certain model fat tire bicycles, some one could actually come along and let out the air in the tire and then muscle the bike wheel out from under the SecureHook clamp arm. The new cable locks on the Thule 916XTR T2 and the Thule 917XTR T2 hitch bike racks extend out from the end of each SecureHook and wrap around the actual bicycle frame to lock the bike to the rack. If you do have an older model 916XT or 917XT, you could simply use a regular bike cable lock on the bicycles and this would eliminate this issue as well. The 916XTR T2 fits 2 inch trailer hitches, while the Thule 917XTR T2 fits 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receivers. Also available is the Thule 918XTR T2 2 Bike Add-On, which is an optional accessory for the 916XTR T2 model. The 918XTR attaches to the end of 916XTR T2 and allows for the transport of an additional two bicycles.

Lots of great adult bike hitch rack solutions are out there for a 2005 Toyota 4-Runner hitch bike rack, but most of us usually end up cramming the kid’s bikes in the back with the picnic lunch. I can’t stand it when the tuna salad pitas get squished. The Saris Thelma Hitch Bike Rack for 3 bikes is a great solution for carrying both adult bikes and a kid’s bike on the back of a 2005 Toyota 4Runner with either a 2″ or 1-1/4″ trailer hitch. The Saris Thelma Juvenile bike hitch rack has 2 bike trays for adult bicycles and a “juvenile” bike tray for carrying any kind of kids bike with 20 inch wheels, including BMX bikes. The Saris Locking Hitch-Tite (Saris 3022) Hitch Bike Rack lock is a smart addition to lock the rack to the 2005 Toyota 4Runner also secure all three bicycles to the hitch bike rack with the Saris cable bike lock. Bonus: This looks really cute too!
