An excellent solution for transporting long equpiment and gear, such as a canoe, extra-long kayaks, rowing shell, lumber, ladders and more, is to mount the Yakima DryDock T-bar hitch mast to any 2 inch trailer hitch receiver combined with a half pack roof rack system used on the front of the vehicle (in this video the Yakima Q Towers Half Pack roof rack is mounted to the pickup truck cab roof). Cross bar sold separately to allow for the selection of the cross bar length that suits your needs. The very long items you are hauling, such as canoe, kayaks, ladders, lumber etc., can then span between the front half pack roof rack crossbar and the rear Yakima DryDock crossbar.
